My Practice

Who Am I?

I spent many years as an attorney in the judiciary in Manhattan, and now have a private practice devoted to helping those who have too many resources to qualify for publicly funded legal assistance but cannot afford full-priced attorney representation. I am a general practitioner, with experience in all types of civil cases, including commercial issues, contractual cases, landlord/tenant cases, insurance coverage cases, New York Labor Law issues, personal injury cases, unemployment insurance problems, disability cases, as well as small business issues.

Currently the Vice Chair of a Section of the New York State Bar Association (and a member of NYSBA's House of Delegates), I am also secretary of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of the New York County Lawyers Association. I believe in resolution of problems with the least amount of court involvement possible. And I serve as a mediator and arbitrator for exactly that purpose. But that said, I have dedicated my career and my practice to obtain justice for all clients.

My Background

Leslie C. Treff

Born in New York City and a 1984 graduate of the night program at New York Law School, my background is in civil law. In addition, while serving in the New York State courts, I spent several years involved in both personal and commercial landlord/tenant issues, NY Labor Law Cases, insurance coverage issues, lead paint cases, and contractual work. Then, for five years, I served as a Special Master in litigation that helped many New York Madoff victims get back a significant portion of the money they invested in feeder funds.

A widow, I am the mother of a teenage former foster son. I also cover the National Hockey League for various digital outlets (YES, I have spent many a night in the press box at MSG and the Prudential Center).
